Baldur's Gate III: a release planned for 2020?

It's no wonder that Baldur's Gate is one of the most famous RPG series of all time. It must be said that it has its roots in an immensely rich universe that is even more popular, Dungeons and Dragons, and more precisely in the Forgotten Realms campaign world.

It is therefore not surprising either that the announcement of Baldur's Gate III has been received with so much enthusiasm by players. As a reminder, the game was revealed on June 6, 2019, during a conference dedicated to Stadia.

And precisely, although we know that Baldur's Gate III will be released on PC and via the Google service, we do not know when, since no release date has been revealed yet. But Stadia may have given us a hint. Indeed, on the blog of the Stadia community, an article was published on February 13 in which there is a question about the releases of games on the platform for the year 2020. And here is what one can read there:

You are already looking forward to DOOM Eternal, Get Packed, Orcs Must Die! 3, Baldur’s Gate 3 and many more games coming to Stadia this year.

Even a release window for spring/summer 2020 is mentioned. Obviously, fans of the series jumped with joy by reading these lines. But Larian was quite hasty responding on this subject and declared that the fact that Baldur's Gate III is listed there was "a mistake". That said, the studio has no longer denied or confirmed anything and the article on the blog of Stadia has so far not been modified following this statement by Larian Studio. Add to that the teasing that we saw last month on the official twitter account of the game, and you get ... a nice confusion!

There is nothing that can confirm if a 2020 release of Baldur's Gate 3 is a reality or not. On the other hand, one thing is certain, Larian gave us an appointment on February 27. We do not exactly know yet what for but it may be an opportunity to see find out some answers about this matter.
