A remake of Resident Evil 4 is in the works

After releasing Resident Evil 3 Remake, Capcom is reportedly working on a remake of the following installment in the series. Although Resident Evil 4 is probably the least popular game of the franchise, it seems that the survey released by the Japanese company asking fans for feedback on the future of Resident Evil has been favorable to continuing with the modernization of older games. Therefore, according to a report from VGC, the studio of the former head of Platinum Games, Tatsuya Minami, is already working on a new version of Resident Evil 4.

Resident Evil 4 was launched in 2005 and takes an unusual approach to the series. In this adventure, Leon S. Kennedy is sent to a strange town in Spain that seems to be the home of a strange organization that has kidnapped Ashley Graham, the daughter of the President of the United States of America. When he arrives at the place he is attacked by a group of hostile villagers who seem to be part of Los Iluminados, the organization that controls the town. As Leon investigates the place, he will discover that the leader of Los Iluminados controls other members through a mind-controlling parasite and that rescuing Ashley is going to be more difficult than he expected. The game is the first one in the series to give players some freedom when aiming with a weapon, and it focuses a bit more on action and shootouts rather than survival horror.

Since there's not been any official confirmation about the remake of Resident Evil 4 yet, we don't know what kind of approach to the story the developers will take on the new game, but we expect that Capcom provides some information about it soon.
