Resident Evil: Project Resistance Unveils Two New Masterminds

Announced last autumn as a spin-off, we now know that Resident Evil: Project Resistance will actually be the multiplayer mode of Resident Evil 3 Remake. The game and its multiplayer mode will be released on the same date, April 3th, but Project Resistance will be a bit special in that, although it is included with the purchase of Resident Evil 3 Remake, it will be possible to download it separately for those who would like to focus only on the multiplayer experience.

Resident Evil: Project Resistance is an asymmetrical multiplayer mode that features gameplay similar to Dead by Daylight. Four players will play as the survivors, who will have to escape from a fifth player in the role of the evil Mastermind. Several types of survivors will be available, each of them with specific abilities and skills that will be useful to the team. There will also be several Masterminds available. They will interact with the survivors indirectly. The Mastermind will be in a separate room where he can monitor the survivors using cameras, set traps, and even take control of creatures to be in direct contact with their prey.

Capcom has revealed two new Masterminds for Resident Evil: Project Resistance. Alex Wesker is a researcher at Umbrella Corp. and she can use traps which will visibly make the zombies tougher. She will also use a carnivorous plant, Yateveo, to slow down the progression of the survivors. The second Mastermind is Ozwell E. Spencer, who is none other than one of the founders and the president of Umbrella. He is quite skilled with advanced technology and he will be able to create fields of disintegration that the survivors should avoid at all costs. With these two new Masterminds, Capcom has now unveiled a total of four.

But that's not all, two new maps for Project Resistance have also been revealed. These are the Casino and the Abandoned Park.  As its name suggests, the first one will take players to an abandoned casino, in which the survivors will make their way between the slot machines under the glow of multicolored neon lights. Abandoned Park is and an old amusement park that will emphasize the horror with both imaginary and real monsters.

Resident Evil: Project Resistance will be included in Resident Evil 3 Remake, which will be released on April 3, 2020. As usual, you can visit our comparator to find the best prices to buy it.
