    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the 'Hydro Boost' repeatedly, or is there a cooldown, and how does it recharge?
The 'Hydro Boost' has a meter. Using it depletes the meter, and it recharges over time while you are driving. The rate of recharge can be improved with certain vehicle upgrades.
How do I earn points for specific actions, and are there multipliers?
Points are awarded for various actions like skillful drifts, near misses, and fulfilling customer requests quickly. There are also multipliers that increase your earnings, such as combo multipliers for consecutive actions, or the fare multiplier for delivering customers fast.
What is the impact of different cab types on gameplay, and how do they affect the 'Hydro Boost' or handling?
Different cabs offer distinct handling characteristics. Some may have better drift capabilities, while others may offer a higher top speed, which in turn impacts the efficacy of the boost. Each cab has a unique 'Hydro Boost' ability.
How important is off-road driving, and when should I use it to my advantage?
Off-road driving is essential, as it allows you to take shortcuts across parks, beaches, and other areas not accessible by paved roads. Knowing these shortcuts is vital to achieving high scores and completing missions quickly.
Are there environmental hazards that affect gameplay, and how should I avoid them?
Yes, the game features environmental hazards such as construction zones, traffic, and unpredictable weather. You must skillfully navigate around these to avoid crashes and maintain speed.
Can I choose my customers, or are they assigned randomly, and what are the benefits of picking up specific customer types?
Customers are assigned randomly, but some are more valuable than others. Certain customers provide better tips or trigger special events that can boost your score. Their destination also has an effect on the value of the trip.
How do upgrades for the taxis work, and do they change the fundamental gameplay loop?
Upgrades are purchased using in-game currency earned from completing fares. Upgrades can improve speed, boost, handling, and other aspects of your taxi, making it easier to earn higher scores and complete challenges. They do not fundamentally change the loop, but rather allow more efficient execution of it.
How do I initiate a drift, and how does it affect my speed and scoring?
Drifting is initiated by pressing the appropriate button while turning at speed. Successfully drifting will maintain speed through corners and earn drift points, which contribute to your overall score.
What is the consequence of crashing, and how is it handled in the game's mechanics?
Crashes penalize you by costing time, as you will need to recover. Severe crashes may also damage your taxi, impacting its handling. Frequent crashes will negatively affect your overall score and earnings.
How does the 'Rage Mode' work, and how does it impact the game?
'Rage Mode' is a special ability that you earn by performing special actions, and can be activated when the meter is full. When activated, the game environment and your cab are altered in a meaningful way, and all your actions can be worth more, but the specifics depends on the cab you chose.
