Blast your way through the cult of the black moon in Effigy, an FPS Metroidvania game set in Gehenna, a prison moon where none have ever escaped. Except now, the entire prison has fallen under the control of the prisoners, who have given themselves to their dark god, the Umbral. You have been sent to restore order in the prison. Stop the prisoners, kill their god, and bring Gehenna back under control—or die trying.

Made by the creators of Sagebrush, Effigy launches you into a game that’s a love letter to 90s first-person shooters while channeling Souls-like combat and exploration. Gehenna is an enormous open world ripe for adventure. Search the moon for quest givers, items, rewards, and lore that you can obtain from scanning and translating strange runes.

No FPS game would be complete without a large arsenal to choose from. Pick your weapons, such as the mining laser which can bounce from surfaces, or the Pulse Buckler which can repel rockets.

Effigy will be released in episodes, which each part adding more items, more characters, and more stories to piece together. Gehenna is a dark place fraught with danger, filled with characters who have their own agendas. Will you achieve your goal and find your way back home, or will the black moon be your grave?
