Eliza is a visual novel about the benefits and limitations of the world’s first virtual counseling program. Set in modern-day Seattle, you play Evelyn Ishino-Aubrey, a programmer who worked on Eliza but experienced burnout and vanished from the industry for three years. Now, hoping to study how her greatest creation works in real life, Evelyn has taken on a job as a human conduit for Eliza. Her task is to solely readout Eliza’s analysis and recommendations to their clients. But how can an AI thoroughly understand the nuances of human life? It’s up to Evelyn to navigate these difficulties, even if it means going off-script when it comes to clients.
