Silksong reminded me why Hollow Knight had marked me so much. The gameplay takes up the basics of the first game, but enriches them with a new nervousness. Hornet is a very pleasant character to play, fast and precise, which makes the fights more intense. The universe is still just as cryptic, telling its story without words, through the decorations and the enemies. The level design is very intelligent, offering complex but readable areas. I loved comparing Pharloom to Hallownest: two very different worlds, but linked by the same artistic identity. Music remains a fundamental pillar, creating an atmosphere both sad and grandiose. Silksong reminded me why I love metroidvania so much

By launching Silksong, I was expecting a Hollow Knight 2, but I quickly understood that Team Cherry wanted to go further. The gameplay is more demanding, but also more fluid. I love the way Hornet uses its tools and silk-based attacks, it gives a real identity to the game. Compared to the first Hollow Knight, I feel less fragile but more exposed, because the pace is faster. The universe is fascinating: Pharloom is strange, almost hostile, with cultures and enemies that tell their own story. The level design is incredibly intelligent, constantly playing with verticality and shortcuts. One feels the mastery acquired since the first game. And the music... always as striking, Christopher Larkin still manages to give me chills, alternating between tension and contemplation

Silksong is a work that should definitely be played by as many people as possible; it's an incredibly polished, enjoyable, and satisfying product, sold at a list price that's a rip-off of the developers themselves. This, however, doesn't mean it's the best Metroidvania ever made, or that Team Cherry is the first development studio to achieve such feats. What is certain is that we are faced with one of the most beautiful, and important, titles for a thousand different reasons (not just gameplay) of this increasingly crowded 2025

you dont need to have played the first1 since silksong is technically a prequel. precision platformer with difficult bosses and with a tons of secrets. if u have played the first u might find this more difficult which was a turnoff for me but its still a great game. and free dlc upcoming :)

Hollow Knight: Silksong feels like a beautifully crafted game, but not always a satisfying one. The movement and combat are slick and responsive, yet the difficulty spikes and punishing backtracking can turn what should be exhilarating into something exhausting. The world is gorgeous and atmospheric, but the density of enemies and the pressure to constantly stay on top of its systems sometimes makes exploration feel more stressful than rewarding. Overall, it comes across as an impressive metroidvania that occasionally seems more interested in testing patience than encouraging curiosity.

Hollow Knight: Silksong feels like a careful expansion of what made the original so memorable, rather than a simple repeat of its ideas. It keeps the haunting atmosphere and precise combat that fans expect, while introducing new movement options, enemies, and areas that make exploration feel fresh again. The world invites patience and curiosity, rewarding those who take their time to learn its rhythms. While its challenge and deliberate pacing won’t appeal to everyone, Silksong comes across as a thoughtfully crafted journey that respects its roots and confidently builds on them.

Hornet's gameplay is a transformation in itself. The cautious heaviness of Hollow Knight has given way to a sharp fluidity. When jumping, attacking and swinging on ropes, the game gives you speed, but never takes away your control. Every move is deliberate. Pressing a button wrong punishes you, but when you get it right, it gives you incredible satisfaction.

Una secuela fenomenal del juego original, con una banda sonora, un apartado visual y una jugabilidad increíbles. Se sentía lo suficientemente diferente del primer juego como para destacar, conservando gran parte de lo que me encantó del original
A phenomenal sequel to the original game, with an amazing soundtrack, visuals and gameplay. It felt different enough from the first game to stand out, while retaining much of what I loved about the original.
