Gang Beasts is a video game that is being developed by Boneload and published by Double Fine Presents. It is a multiplayer oriented beat 'em up party video game that aims to provide enjoyable gameplay and comical effect all mixed into one silly, fun experience. Gang Beasts already released on Steam's Early Access for Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Linux in the 29th of August 2014, so it has been in Early Access for quite a while, getting continuous updates and being actively developed to improve the game and remove any bugs that may affect the gameplay too much. Gang Beasts will also be released on PlayStation 4 and for PlayStation VR in the first quarter of 2017, but an exact release date has not been announced yet. The game focuses on gelatinous characters, weird, action-packed fight sequences, and dangerous environments. Gang Beasts is set in the colorful, fictional metropolis called Beef City. On initial release, the game had 8 multiplayer stages, but more will most likely be added later in development. In Gang Beasts the main intention is to kick and punch your opponents until they get "knocked out", and then the player needs to utilize the many hazards found in the maps to finish off their adversary. This combination of silly game mechanics, unique yet weird graphics, and hilarious battles makes Gang Beasts a multiplayer experience that isn't seen much in the gaming industry today. Innovative and entertaining, the game was quite well received by many players and critics even when it launched in its alpha stage. Watching gummy figures punch and kick each other is funny in its own right, and then seeing them trying to push, pull, or even throw their enemy into a map hazard is both interesting to watch as an spectator, and it's even more interesting when you play the game and try to do the same yourself.
