The patched version of XIII- Remake gets its first official trailer

Released in November 2020, fans were not impressed with the remake of XIII. In addition to numerous gameplay issues and bugs, the game mischaracterized much of the visual presentation that helped make the original game a classic - something that led distributor Microids (Syberia: The World Before and Sifu) to change the developer of the project, which went back to the drawing board.

Scheduled for release on September 13, the patch of the remake got this week its first official video running on the PlayStation 5. According to the company responsible for publishing the game, the new version will bring several notable improvements, including improved artificial intelligence and support for 60 frames per second on consoles.

The video shows that current developer Tower Five has paid particular attention to the game's presentation, which retains the comic book look of the original XIII. Also, it appears the company dealt well with the various bugs and glitches that made the 2020 re-release "unplayable" for most players.

XIII to get online multiplayer

Tower Five promises that its version of XIII has been completely reworked to keep the original game's features intact. The developer's work involved completely changing the art direction of the title, as well as making several technical improvements to all of its versions.

The release should also mark the debut of a new multiplayer mode that will support up to 13 simultaneous players (they really love the number thirteen). According to Microids, the latest version will be distributed as a free update to everyone who has already purchased the 2020 remake in any of its versions.

With the new version's arrival, XIII - Remake should become unavailable and entirely replaced. On Steam, fans of the series will still have the opportunity to check out the original version of the game, re-released in 2003, which is identified by the name XIII - Classic in the store.
