Ubisoft leak hints at upcoming Assassin’s Creed game
Ubisoft might be preparing a big reveal for Assassin’s Creed fans. A new listing spotted by reliable leaker PlayStationSize hints at a yet-unannounced Assassin’s Creed title—one that fans believe could finally confirm the long-rumored remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The leak revealed a fresh PPSA code, similar to those used for Assasin's Creed Valhalla, Assasin's Creed Mirage, and the recently released Assassin’s Creed Shadows. However, this code didn’t match any existing title or DLC, leading fans to speculate that it may be tied to the remake.
A New Standalone Game?

PPSA07231_00 = AC Mirage
PPSA20397_00 = AC Shadows
PPSA28183_00 (New) = AC ???
The timing adds fuel to the fire. Earlier this month, eagle-eyed fans noticed backend changes to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag's Steam page, possibly suggesting a modern re-release or a full remake in development. Combined with past hints from Edward Kenway’s voice actor and growing fan appetite for more pirate-themed entries in the series, the clues are stacking up.
However, there’s also another possibility: the mysterious code could be linked to Assassin’s Creed Shadows content. Ubisoft has already teased an upcoming expansion titled Claws of Awaji, and with a major update (v1.0.7) dropping on July 29 that introduces New Game+ mode, momentum is building. Notably, the PlayStation Store sometimes treats expansions as standalone products, which could explain the appearance of the new listing.
Adding to the speculation, subtle signs suggest that Assassin’s Creed Shadows may be headed to the upcoming Switch 2. Ubisoft has a history of supporting Nintendo platforms, and whispers of a port are consistent with recent trends—particularly after Assasin's Creed Valhalla and Assasin's Creed Mirage missed out. If true, this would mark the first mainline Assassin’s Creed title on a Nintendo platform in over a decade, offering a portable version of the dual-protagonist samurai adventure.
Whether the leak points to a remake or an expansion, it’s clear Ubisoft isn’t done surprising Assassin’s Creed fans. For now, be sure to use our price comparator to find the best deals on Assassin’s Creed Shadows—the latest addition to the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
