Helldivers 2 has recently been regarded as one of the best live service games of the year by many players in the gaming community, with the developer consistently delivering updates to enhance the game's quality. Entering April, another new Warbond for Helldivers 2, named Democratic Detonation, is set to release on April 11th.
Unlike the previous Warbond: Cutting Edge with a more futuristic theme, Democratic Detonation is really all about "Democratic Detonation", featured many explosive weapons that will bring more exciment and "impact" to the gameplay. As stated in PlayStation Blog, Democratic Detonation will come with four new guns, a grenade, a booster and three armor sets.
New weapons and Booster:
- BR-14 Adjudicator Rifle: The armour-penetrating assault rifle to deal with smaller groups of enemies.
- R-36 Eruptor Rifle: A bolt-action rifle fires jet-assisted shells that will explode shrapnel in all directions upon impact.
- CB-9 Exploding Crossbow: Powerful exploding bolts that dish out max damage upon direct impact.
- G-123 Thermite Grenade: A sticky grenade that can burns upon once stick on a surfaces.
- GP-31 Grenade Pistol: A pistol that fires grenades.
New armour:
- Medium Armour: CE-27 Ground Breaker
- Light Armour: CE-07 Demolition Specialist
- Heavy Armour: FS-55 Devastator
This new Warbond will definitely bring more comedic moment into the game, which it is famously known for. Specifically, the description of the R-36 Eruptor Rifle in the Blog reads: "Keep your distance… this bolt-action rifle fires jet-assisted shells that explode shrapnel in all directions upon impact. All directions. Even your face." The developers really don't shy away from highlighting this strong element of the game. However, this isn't the only strong point of this new Warbond; these new weapons seem to provide a lot of utility. For instance, the grenade pistol will be very useful for closing bug holes, and the R-36 Eruptor Rifle will provide incredibly powerful firepower.
With Cutting Edge just released in March and now we have Democratic Detonation in April, it's highly likely that we'll have another Helldivers Warbond next month, which is quite fast.
