When SEGA released Sonic The Hedgehog in 1991 on the Mega Drive console, it was with the intention of giving Super Mario franchise a run for its money. More than 30 years later, both franchises have grown following different paths. Each one have a huge community of followers and it's not about a rivalry between SEGA and Nintendo consoles anymore.
