RTX 3060 remains a top performer on Steam, even after four years in the market

Over four years since its release, Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3060 is still regarded as the best by gamers on the Steam platform, as shown in the latest hardware survey. With prices dropping significantly and the GPUs still delivering strong performance, it's no surprise that the GeForce RTX 3060 remains the most popular choice among Steam gamers, even after all these years.

Data from Steam indicates that the RTX 3060 continues to be the most widely used option, accounting for over 5% of users. The mobile and desktop versions of the RTX 4060 follow in second and third place, highlighting the popularity of Nvidia's graphics card range.

Experts point to the RTX 3060’s capability to run AAA games at 1080p resolution with 60 FPS, making it particularly appealing for FPS and eSports games. Its relatively low cost after several years on the shelves also plays a significant role.

Although the RTX 4060 offers advanced DLSS technology and frame generation features, 1080p resolution is still the preferred choice for more than 50% of gamers, ensuring that the RTX 3060 remains a strong competitor.

Unfortunately, Nvidia has plans to end production of the RTX 3060. This could mean a great chance for users to purchase this beloved GPU before it exits the market. While Nvidia has recently introduced the new RTX 5000 series, its steep pricing and limited stock make the RTX 3000 and 4000 series a more practical choice for the majority of gamers.

And as always, if you are looking to elevate your next gaming experience, check out our comparator for the best offer on the GeForce RTX 4080 GPU today.
