AMD’s Zen 6 mobile processors reportedly coming in 2027
A leaked roadmap from an unverified laptop manufacturer has surfaced, outlining the upcoming CPU release plans for both AMD and Intel. This information, shared by @Momomo_us on Twitter/X, highlights what to expect in laptops for 2026 and 2027.
According to this roadmap, Intel’s Panther Lake CPUs are projected to launch in Q2 2026, indicating that the next generation of Intel mobile GPUs will also be available around that time. Intel has consistently asserted that Panther Lake CPUs will be released this year. This likely means that initial availability will be limited to select OEMs, with wider distribution occurring later.
For AMD, the forthcoming “Medusa” series CPUs are expected to debut in Q2 2026. The specific name of this CPU remains unknown; however, if AMD adheres to its current naming scheme, they will likely be part of the Ryzen AI 400 series. It is anticipated that AMD's Medusa CPUs will incorporate Zen 6 CPU cores.

In 2027, the launch of Intel’s Nova Lake laptop CPUs is anticipated, as part of the Intel Core Ultra 400 series. If Intel follows its usual pattern, Nova Lake will likely be released for desktop users a quarter or two ahead of its laptop counterpart. This suggests that the desktop version of Nova Lake CPUs could be available in late 2026.
As new architectures emerge from AMD and Intel, the competition in the laptop market is set to intensify in 2026. Laptop users can look forward to more powerful and efficient devices. However, it remains uncertain whether Intel’s Panther Lake will provide the performance improvements that users hope for. Will this represent a significant upgrade over Lunar Lake? If not, Intel might risk losing market share to AMD.
Although AMD’s upcoming “Medusa” series CPUs are on the way, those seeking top-tier gaming performance presently should consider the Ryzen 7 9800X3D as the leading processor. Featuring innovative 3D V-Cache technology, it offers substantial gaming performance enhancement and established efficiency, making it the ideal choice for gamers who require smooth framerates and exceptional responsiveness today.
