Pricing for AMD's RDNA 4 GPUs has been leaked, revealing the RX 9070 XT 16GB model is on its way
AMD is expected to name their RDNA 4 GPU flagship as the Radeon RX 9070 XT, featuring 16GB of VRAM and a 256-bit memory interface. This leaker has also shared insights regarding the pricing tiers for the RDNA 4 series, the upcoming generation of AMD graphics cards. Consequently, the Radeon RX 9070 XT could potentially retail for up to $649.
At the lower end, AMD might introduce Navi 44-based RDNA 4 GPU models priced as low as $179. It’s important to note that this pricing pertains to AMD’s entry-level RDNA 4 SKU. Unfortunately, details regarding the specifications of this model are still unclear. It is hoped that this GPU will feature more than 8GB of VRAM.
According to All the Watts, the AMD RX 9700 XT will perform worse than the RX 7900 XT but better than the RX 7900 GRE. This likely pertains to the “raster” performance capabilities of AMD’s upcoming GPU. It is known that AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture significantly enhances ray tracing performance, with the ray tracing aspects being utilized in Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro. This enhancement is identified as one of the critical components of the PlayStation 5 Pro.

AMD has stated that their strategy for RDNA 4 is focused on increasing market share. The company aims to expand its GPU market share with RDNA 4 to secure developer support. Nvidia’s prevailing position has led to a scenario where PC games are primarily optimized for Nvidia hardware, leaving other GPU manufacturers as secondary considerations.
In order for AMD to enhance its market share, the pricing of their RDNA 4 GPU products must be competitive. An aggressive pricing strategy for RDNA 4 is essential if AMD intends to capture market share, necessitating a strong value proposition against both their current offerings and those of Nvidia.
