Linux Kernel update points to next-gen Intel GPU inside Nova Lake
Panther Lake has just been revealed, but many are focused on a specific topic: its Xe3 architecture, particularly the forthcoming Xe3P. This is anticipated to be a part of the ARC Celestial lineup, though recent findings suggest that the Compute Units (CUs) will also be included in the upcoming Nova Lake-S desktop processors.
Lasse Kärkkäinen uncovered Linux kernel patches that contain a remark from an Intel engineer, indicating that the Xe3P will include an LPM variant compatible with the next-generation desktop platform. It’s important to note that Xe3P was previously linked to Nova Lake-AX, which was expected to compete with AMD’s Strix Halo Series, featuring a robust integrated graphics core, but was ultimately scrapped.

Intel’s Nova Lake processors are expected to launch in late 2026, following Panther Lake. Therefore, Intel’s Xe3P graphics architecture is projected to debut next year, just one year after Xe3. Unfortunately, it remains unclear what modifications will be made between Xe3 and Xe3P. The “P” is said to represent “Plus” or “Performance,” indicating that Xe3P is likely to outperform Xe3. Currently, the specific architectural improvements that Xe3P might introduce are unknown.
Intel’s Xe3P graphics chips will be included in the company’s C-series, replacing the existing B-series. This change implies that Xe3P will offer a significant increase in performance. At present, Xe3P is anticipated to be utilized in both integrated and discrete graphics chips.

Details regarding the launch of Intel’s first Xe3P graphics cards remain undisclosed. We can anticipate seeing Xe3P GPUs sometime in 2026.
For gamers, Intel's upcoming XeSS 3 technology promises improved frame rates and enhanced visuals. The Intel ARC B580 is engineered to fully harness XeSS 3, providing remarkable performance, sharp image quality, and great value for modern gaming. If you wish to experience cutting-edge upscaling today, the ARC B570 serves as the ideal entry point.
