New RTX 5070 leaks disappoint gamers
Leaked details about the upcoming GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card suggest minimal upgrades compared to the previous generation, sparking concerns about its performance and pricing.
Although NVIDIA is expected to unveil the RTX 50-series next month, the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti models might not hit shelves until Q1 of next year. According to leaker @kopite7kimi, the RTX 5070 Ti will feature the GB203-300 GPU with 8,960 CUDA cores, 16 GB of GDDR7 memory, and a power consumption of 300W. The card’s performance is rumored to be on par with the current RTX 4080 model.
Merry Christmas.

Meanwhile, the RTX 5070 will use the GB205-300 GPU, offering 6,144 CUDA cores, 12 GB of memory, and a 250W power draw. Notably, the specifications of the RTX 5070 are strikingly similar to its predecessor, the RTX 4070 Ti, suggesting NVIDIA has made only marginal upgrades.

Previously, the RTX 4070 and 4070 Ti were criticized for offering underwhelming performance relative to their price tags. These new leaks have raised concerns among gamers that history might repeat itself with the RTX 5070.
Remember that these aren't the official specs, but considering how accurate the leaker has been with his previous leaks, and how these specs match the information from other sources, it's highly likely that we will see these specs in the final versions. Pricing isn't yet revealed, but it's unlikely that NVIDIA will lower the prices of these cards compared to their predecessors. Expect both RTX 5070 Ti and 5070 to be released in Q1 2025 after NVIDIA launches the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090.
