New AMD Radeon RX 9070 graphics cards are set to launch in early March
During AMD’s Q4 2024 earnings call, CEO Lisa Su announced that the company plans to launch its first RDNA 4 GPUs in “early March.” AMD aims to focus on the “highest volume segment of the enthusiast gaming market” with the new Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs.
Lisa Su stated that these upcoming GPUs will “deliver high-quality 4K gaming to mainstream players.” This achievement is thanks to AMD's enhancements in AI and ray tracing capabilities. Additionally, AMD's new AI-driven upscaling technology, FSR 4, contributes to this advancement.
With AMD emphasizing “mainstream players,” there is hope that the company will implement competitive pricing for these GPUs. The high-end GPU market faces a significant pricing dilemma, rendering PC gaming less accessible for typical gamers. Competitive pricing from AMD could challenge this issue and would likely be well-received by many PC gamers.

AMD is anticipated to hold a press conference later this month focusing on RDNA 4. This event will unveil the specifications and performance details of the Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards. Although specifications for these GPUs have already been leaked, these reports are yet to be verified.
Nvidia is expected to price the RTX 5070 Ti at $749 for 16GB of VRAM, assuming one can purchase it at MSRP. In contrast, both the RX 9070 XT and its non-XT variant are rumored to feature 16GB of VRAM, with the latter reportedly performing within 5% of the RTX 4080 in rasterization. At CES, AMD included the RX 9060 series in its promotional materials. Dr. Lisa Su’s remarks specifically highlighted the RX 9070 series, which suggests that more affordable models may be released later, potentially in time for Computex in May.
