Claim Monument Valley for Free on Epic Games Store
The Epic Games Store has updated its weekly free game promotion, now featuring only one title for players to claim. This week, Monument Valley takes the place of last week's Machinarium and Make Way giveaways, while it seems that the release of The Battle of Polytopia has been postponed, resulting in just one free game this time around.
As usual, you have a week to permanently add this latest indie title to your Epic Games Store library.
Monument Valley caters to puzzle enthusiasts, presenting levels adorned with minimalist art and impossible structures as players guide the main character through them. Each stage allows for manipulation of buildings and pathways, enabling players to rotate platforms, alter the ground, and reveal hidden pathways. Many have likened the game’s distinctive visual style to the artwork of M. C. Escher.
“Set off on a journey of forgiveness with Ida, the mute princess, traversing through surreal landscapes and deceptive puzzles,” states developer ustwo games. “Dive into this tranquil and reflective puzzle experience by altering monuments and forming dynamic pathways to uncover new, surreal, and enigmatic realms.”
Although the game debuted on iOS and Android in 2014 (and even on Windows Phone in 2015), it wasn't until 2022 that ustwo released it on PC. Since then, the game studio has produced two sequels featuring similar architecture-themed puzzles for fans to enjoy.
The Monument Valley giveaway on the Epic Games Store is currently active and will be available until September 11. During this seven-day period, PC gamers can acquire the game at no cost before the next set of free games is offered. Regarding those upcoming titles, Epic will launch Ghostrunner 2, Monument Valley 2, and The Battle of Polytopia on the same day.
