Like a Dragon: Ishin! is finally travelling overseas

Like a Dragon: Ishin! will be released to the West for the first time. During Sony's State of Play, SEGA revealed that a Remake of the game is on its way to PlayStation 4 and 5, with completely revamped graphics. At the following Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio event, it was announced that Like a Dragon: Ishin! would also be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.

The announcement trailer features information about the game's setting, and the PlayStation Blog has more details from David Hinds, SEGA of America's community manager.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! is an action-adventure historical thriller set uniquely in 1860s Kyo, a fictionalized version of Kyoto. While other games tell earlier stories in Japanese history, Like a Dragon: Ishin! lets you experience the story of how the iconic samurai era vanished. Our hero, Sakamoto Ryoma, is a true historical figure largely credited with overthrowing the shogunate and taking Japan into a radical reformation.

Featuring cinematic and gameplay snippets, the trailer shows off the graphically enhanced characters and redone settings, as well as providing a glimpse of violent samurai sword fighting. The official announcement also claims that Kazuma Kiryu will portray Sakamoto Ryoma and bring the team alongside him.

The original Like a Dragon: Ishin! was released in 2014 for PlayStation 3 and 4. With the Remake, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio publishes the game to the rest of the world for the first time. Furthermore, Yakuza fans on the PC can be ecstatic because the studio also announced that the spinoffs Judgment and Lost Judgment are now available on Steam and are up for grabs.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! arrives in February 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. You can check our comparison tools to get the best discounts for Like a Dragon: Ishin! and adventure through feudal Japan in the best beat 'em-up style.
