Leaked benchmark reveals a 13% performance boost for the Ryzen 9 9900X CPU compared to its predecessor

AMD is set to launch their Ryzen 9000 series processors later this month, with Wccftech frequently leaking information about it. The media seems to have obtained some confidential and preliminary testing data from board partners optimizing their platforms for the new desktop series. The site has disclosed AMD’s plans for the X3D series, which are currently particularly attractive to gamers. However, with the non-X3D series debuting later this month, the focus has shifted to comparing Zen 5 to Zen 4.

According to the results below, AMD’s next-generation 12-core CPU will be about 13% faster than its predecessor, the Ryzen 9 7900X. It’s worth noting that AMD’s new Ryzen 9 9900X has a TDP of 120W, which is 50W lower than the Ryzen 9 7900X. This means the new Zen 5 chip from AMD is not only faster but also significantly more power efficient.

In Cinebench R23 multi-threaded tests, the 7900X scores around 29,000 points, whereas the 9900X reaches 33,000 points at stock settings, showing a 14% improvement with a lower TDP. In Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) enabled tests, the 9900X reportedly scores 34,500 points, an 18% increase over the Zen 4 part.

These leaked results underscore the strengths of AMD’s new Zen 5 CPU architecture.
