Far Cry 6: say goodbye to the map editor and Arcade Mode

Although Ubisoft was rather silent about Far Cry 6 since its official announcement at last year's Ubisoft Forward, things have been quite different for a few weeks now. Ubisoft has opened the floodgates of information and gamers who are eagerly awaiting the release of Far Cry 6 have been able to discover many things about the game in the last few days.

More specifically, we got to know its release date: Far Cry 6 will be released on October 7th on PC, as well as on Playstation and Xbox consoles. A gameplay reveal took place just a few days ago, and several facts about the game were made public, including that you will be able to play as either a male or a female character. One of the most surprising things from the reveal is that the footage shows our character in third-person view. This may seem anecdotal if you're not a fan of the Far Cry series, but it's something unusual, as the hero never appears. Ubisoft has confirmed that in Far Cry 6 the main character, Dani Rojas, will have a deeper story.

Another piece of information that we discovered via an AMA (Ask me Anything) session on Reddit, is that Far Cry 6 will not feature a map editor, nor an Arcade mode, which disappointed many fans.

"No, Arcade is not coming back. Removing this mode from our plan was a difficult decision, but it allowed us to focus our efforts on the main campaign, transporting players into the heart of a modern-day guerrilla revolution."

This is the explanation provided by Alexandre Letendre, Game Director ofFar Cry 6. However, it has been confirmed that the campaign will still be playable in co-op. This doesn't completely close the door on the possibility of multiplayer in Far Cry 6, but if the game offers it, it will be in a different form. We should know more in the coming months.
