Dead Cells’ first paid DLC is coming early 2020

Dead Cells is one of the best indie action games released in recent years. The roguelike-metroidvania game developed by Motion Twin allows players to dash through an endless labyrinth of procedurally-generated levels fighting against enemies and gathering items and cells to empower themselves. Permanent dead, deadly enemies and deadly bosses complete a game with very solid gameplay that delights all the fans of the action dungeon crawlers. Dead Cells is getting its first paid DLC very soon, called The Bad Seed.

The Bad Seed expands the content in Dead Cells with two new biomes for the players to explore. The Arboretum is a lush paradise to deceivingly adorable creatures, where hidden threats may end your adventure abruptly if you are not very careful. The Swamp is full of deadly insects and savage mutant tribesmen who are not too fond of strangers visiting their territory. Traversing those two new areas will be quite challenging, especially when you get to face the final boss that is waiting for you at the end of each of them. The DLC also includes a lot of surprises and the first double-slot weapon, a deadly scythe able to cut through hordes of enemies.

Fortunately, the launch of the first paid DLC for Dead Cells doesn't mean that the developers won't be releasing more free content for the game, or that's what the developers have stated, promising free content, balancing, and systemic updates for the game in the future.

Dead Cells already received extra free content with the Rise of the Giant DLC, which included new levels, bosses, enemies, weapons, skills and more, adding a new level of complexity to the game.

Keep in mind that Dead Cells is one of those challenging games where you will be banging your head against a wall, and unless you are skilled enough to claim victory, you will have to start all over from the beginning every time you die.
