Bloodlines 2 is back from the ashes

In an unexpected turn of events, a new trailer for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 was released yesterday. The trailer announces the release of the game for 2024 and it's one of the most surprising announcements of the summer as the game inspired in the World of Darkness universe pretty much disappeared from the radar a while ago due to problems with its development. Despite being quite an anticipated title and having generated a lot of expectation among the fans of White Wolf's RPG, a sudden change of developer studio left the fans orphan and lacking information about the future.

Re-emerged from the shadows

Publisher Paradox Interactive has now brought back Bloodlines 2 from the ashes after being very close to canceling it and promises an extended gameplay video early next year and a full release of the game in Fall 2024. The announcement was made at PAX West yesterday and it caught everyone off guard even though Paradox hinted at news about it a couple of months ago. Bloodlines 2 returns with a new developer and a spectacular video that mainly focuses on its action-based first-person combat showing the protagonist fighting against several opponents by using vampiric powers.

It's yet to be revealed if all the previous work done by Hardsuit Labs has been completely scrapped by the new developer and what kind of approach the game takes to the original story. So far, the fans are showing some concerns about Bloodlines 2 turning into more of an action brawler than an immersive RPG experience after watching the latest video but we will have to wait a bit longer to know more.

The return of Bloodlines 2 is great news for the fans of Vampire: The Masquerade who have been stuck with playing to the original Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines for almost 20 years now.
