After gaining quite many followers with its first three games, the Mass Effect series managed to position itself among the most popular games of the sci-fi genre. This huge popularity was somewhat discontinued by Mass Effect Andromeda, which the fans didn't really receive with open arms. One of the reasons for that could be that Commander Shepard was not the protagonist of the game but also some major differences in certain aspects of gameplay could have had a rather negative impact on the popularity of Mass Effect Andromeda. Thankfully, BioWare has not been discouraged due to those problems and it seems that Mass Effect continues to be among the projects of the studio. There's been a lot of speculation in the last few months about a new Mass Effect game, and the rumors have turned out to be true because a new game set in the Mass Effect universe seems to be already in the works.
BioWare confirmed that they are working on a new Mass Effect project last month but a brand new teaser published a few days ago has been enough to wake up the fans of Mass Effect from slumber, and a multitude of them have started to speculate about what will be the new game about. Nothing has been revealed about the new Mass Effect yet, and we will probably have to wait for a while until we know any details about it. Until any reveal happens, you should have an eye on the release of the remastered version of the original Mass Effect trilogy, which should arrive in Spring 2021 on PC and consoles in the form of Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
