Anthem: preload the demo now!

Anthem, Bioware's next game launches on February 22nd and it is about to be unveiled. The title is presented as an FPS with RPG elements, skillfully combining single-player and cooperative multiplayer. Anthem allows you to evolve in a world unfinished by the gods, in which men struggle for their survival. As a Freelancer, you are responsible for protecting humanity from the dangers that threaten it, and to do so, you have an exoskeleton, called Javelin, that endows you with superhuman power.

Anthem offers a unique concept called "Our world, my story", around which the gameplay of the game is based. "Our world" refers to the multiplayer dimension of the game; in a dynamic open world, you can team up with three other players to face various dangers. The world of Anthem is common to all players, and weather effects or events will appear for all in a synchronized way. On the other hand, when you return to Fort Tarsis, the solo dimension of "my story" will take over. Fort Tarsis is in a way your fiefdom, in which you can interact with NPCs, who will react to your past actions, and give you new missions. These stops will also be an opportunity to customize and improve your Javelin. 

If you are interested in this adventure, two upcoming demo phases will allow you to discover the world of Anthem. The first is a VIP demo and will take place from January 25th to 27th on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. To participate, you must have pre-ordered the game, or be an EA Access or Origin Access member. You will also need an Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus subscription if you are playing on Xbox One or PS4. Access will be automatically unlocked for players who have purchased their version on official digital platforms, while third-party resellers should provide a code to be entered on the EA website. This access is accompanied by 3 invitation codes for your friends to join you. For all other players, a demo open to all will be available from February 1st to 3rd. As with the VIP demo, console players will need a Gold or PS Plus subscription. And for all players wishing to download the demo, whether you pre-ordered the game or not, you can now pre-load it on your platform, to enjoy it as soon as the servers open on the scheduled dates. In terms of content, Mark Darrah communicated through a tweet on what awaits players in these two demo phases:

• The demo will take place around the middle of the game
• There will be no tutorials
• Players will not be able to choose their pilot
• The balance and economy will be different from the final version of the game
• The demo is a version of the game that is about 6 weeks old, some bugs already fixed may be present
• The PC controls will be slightly different from the final version
