Amnesia: The Bunker has been delayed again

Frictional Games has announced that they are delaying the release of Amnesia: The Bunker by an additional two weeks. Instead of May, the third sequel of the Amnesia series is slated to hit stores on June 6.

Here is the explanation according to Amnesia: The Bunker creative lead, Fredrik Olsson:

“We are going through the certification process and we have encountered multiple rare crashes, very difficult to identify, reproduce, and thereby also fix. We simply can’t make it time. The alternative would’ve been to ask the team to work weekends or nights, but that’s simply not something we do here at Frictional.”

Thankfully, it’s not all bad news. For one thing, two weeks is not a long time, especially since a triple-A game like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been delayed to next year due to negative backlash during its gameplay livestream.

What’s more, to give fans a taste of what it’s like to be trapped in an underground bunker while stalked by a savage monster, Frictional Games will release a playable demo on Steam come May 22. This covers the PC version, but it’s not yet clear if Xbox and PS5 will get a demo as well.

Fans have been patiently waiting to be scared witless by the game ever since recent trailers showed just how different it is from previous entries in the series. Amnesia: The Bunker channels Resident Evil with its safe zone hub and seemingly invincible monster, but includes claustrophobic tunnels, dark corners, and the pressure of limited fuel supplies to keep the generator going.

Amnesia: The Bunker will launch on June 6 for the PC, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. You can pre-purchase an Amnesia: The Bunker Xbox code from our comparator.
