Affordable RX 9060 graphics card is set to launch in Q2 2025
According to Wcctech, AMD plans to introduce its mid-range RX 9060 graphics cards in the second quarter of 2025. This series is designed to directly rival NVIDIA's upcoming RTX Blackwell GPUs in the 60-class, which includes the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti models, specifically targeting gamers on a budget.
After the launch of the RDNA 4-based RX 9070 series, highlighted by the flagship Radeon RX 9070 XT priced at $599, which goes up against NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 Ti, AMD seems poised to expand its market reach. While the RX 9070 series has drawn interest from the mid-to-high-end consumer base, affordable options have been limited for everyday gamers. The new RX 9060 series aims to address this issue, focusing on the sub-$400 price range.

As per early insights from AMD China shared through MyDrivers, the Radeon RX 9060 series is expected to utilize the Navi 44 architecture, which is a more budget-friendly GPU design. It is also expected that these versions will incorporate around 8GB of VRAM, with final specifications still to be confirmed as AMD refines its market strategy.
Following a similar approach seen with the RX 9070 launch, AMD is likely to target the competitive $400-$500 price segment. This tactical strategy could present formidable competition for NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5060 and its 'Ti' variant. While the exact launch date has not been confirmed, predictions suggest a possible introduction in April, likely following NVIDIA’s release of its 60-class GPUs. However, without official verification, the specific timeline remains uncertain.
The rollout of the RX 9060 series may pose a notable challenge for NVIDIA, compelling the corporation to reassess its market strategy if it intends to maintain its competitive stance in the budget category. In summary, the shifting landscape in the GPU market hints at an exciting time ahead for both AMD and NVIDIA.
