Alan Wake 2 introduces its new protagonist

As you already know if you've been following us, Alan Wake 2 will bring back the eponymous bestselling crime fiction writer to focus on a completely new story. The game is set in a scenario that is very familiar to the fans of the popular psychological horror series. We are talking, of course, about Bright Falls, a small and semi-isolated town in the mountains with a long history of mysterious events. Alan Wake disappeared a decade ago without leaving a trace, and in the new game, we discover that he has been held prisoner in the Dark Place. A series of murders in Bright Falls brings into the story a new character, Saga Anderson, an accomplished FBI agent who will try to solve these cases. Soon after arriving at the little town Saga is immersed in a nightmare as she discovers that the events described in the pages of a horror story are becoming real.

Two sides of a story

Alan Wake 2 offers you two different points of view that share a common ground: a horror story. On one side, you can play as Alan Wake while he looks for a way to escape from his prison. On the other, you can join Saga Anderson as she investigates the murders and discover that the situation is far more complex than she anticipated. Alan is a character well-known to the fans, and you can discover more details about Saga in the latest video published by Remedy, a journey behind the scenes that introduces the FBI profiler to the masses.

Despite her previous experience, Saga Anderson will dive into uncharted territory as soon as she sets foot in Bright Falls. The more she investigates, the more unsettling details and clues she will discover, throwing her into a descending spiral of supernatural horror. Her unrelenting drive to solve the mystery speeds her up down a road that will take her to the limit of her sanity as she gets immersed in a story written by Wake himself, in an attempt to escape from his own nightmare.

Developer Remedy has confirmed that Alan Wake 2 will launch on October 17, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
