Gearbox details the next seasonal event in Borderlands 3

With the launch of Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock a few days away, developer Gearbox has decided to let us know a bit more about their plans for Borderlands 3. Helping the wedding planner in the upcoming DLC will keep us busy for a while but the game is also receiving free content very soon. As it happened in other games in the Borderlands series, limited-time events and DLC will be a very important part of the content. Although we don't expect to see any soon the addition of new character like they did with Gaige and Krieg in Borderlands 2, the game still offers to the players plenty of hours of non-stop action.

As usual, the way that the developers have used to talk about the content coming to Borderlands 3 has been another episode of the Borderlands Show. In the video below, you can watch developers talking about the most eagerly awaited wedding of the year, the introduction of Mayhem 2.0 mode and the upcoming seasonal event Revenge of the Cartels.

Revenge of the Cartels is a seasonal event that will be available for six weeks. You will have to help the dinosaur Maurice once more. This time he has got in trouble and he has a shady character named Joey Ultraviolet coming for him. As you can imagine we will be the ones in charge of solving the problem, and we will have to hunt certain gang members through the whole Borderlands system. They are hiding in the weirdest places, including some that you have never visited before. When we have taken care of the objectives Maurice will open a portal to a new zone called The Mansion that Joey and his lackeys use as a base of operations. He can be aided by three different gangs, so you will never fight the same goons two times in a row.

Of course, Revenge of the Cartels comes with new seasonal loot that includes unique customization items and powerful Anointed parts. If for any reason you don't want to participate in the seasonal event you will be able to deactivate it in your games.

Revenge of the Cartels will be available next month to all Borderlands 3 players on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock DLC is included in Borderlands 3 Season Pass.
