E3 preparations continues despite the coronavirus threats
We are being witnesses to the cancelation of events all over the world due to the coronavirus threat and the most important video games event of the year could be its next victim. The city of Los Angeles has declared the state of emergency over coronavirus and the organization in charge of the E3 2020, the ESA, has been forced to make a statement on the matter to keep the waters calm. They have published an official statement on the official website of the event that reads the following:
"The health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors, partners, and staff is our top priority. While the ESA continues to plan for a safe and successful E3 show June 9-11, 2020 - we are monitoring and evaluating the situation daily."
"Our E3 team and partners continue to monitor COVID-19 via the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). We are actively assessing the latest information and will continue to develop measures to further reduce health risks at the show."
Obviously, the propagation of the virus is starting to have a severe impact on all kinds of events, especially those that gather a lot of participants. The recent cancelation of the GDC is just an example of an issue that is also affecting esports competitions all over the world.

The importance of the E3 was already being questioned over the decision of some major developers and publishers of celebrating their own separate events, something that Sony started last year. The possible absence of public in the E3 would undoubtedly be a fatal strike to the celebration of the event, but so far it seems that the organizers intend to continue with the preparations for it.
We are sure that even if the E3 is not celebrated, the companies participating will still be announcing their projects around the same date, probably organizing some kind of online presentation or live stream. Whatever happens, we still expect to have news about the projects of those companies, including games like Beyond Good and Evil 2, Watch Dogs Legion or Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, but also about upcoming and unconfirmed projects like the rumored new installments in series like GTA, The Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age or Batman.
