What secrets lie in your old childhood home? You’re about to find out. In the first-person exploration game Gone Home, you take on the role of Katie Greenbriar, a young woman coming back to her family house in rural Oregon only to find the place completely deserted, though with signs of habitation. Moving through the large mansion, you find journals and scraps of information scattered about, written by your family members: your dad Terry, a failed writer; your mom Janice, a recently promoted wildlife conservationist; and your younger sister Samantha, a college student looking for her place in life. It becomes clear that each family member is hiding as many secrets as the house itself. It falls to you to piece together exactly what happened and what it means for your entire family.

I had heard about this game for a while and thanks to a contest I won it a few months ago. The story takes place at night in a mansion where we will have to explore all the nooks and crannies in order to advance in the story which is surprising, confusing even if we quickly see the global scenario taking shape. Take this game only if you like stories. The game is short at barely an hour, but it can be worth it.
