Over The Top: WWI throws players directly into the harsh and chaotic battlefields of the First World War. In this large-scale multiplayer shooter, you fight across war-torn landscapes inspired by the trench warfare that defined the conflict. Every match captures the tension and brutality of the era as soldiers charge across no-man's-land, defend fragile trench lines, and struggle to gain ground against overwhelming opposition.

The battlefield itself is constantly changing. Explosions from artillery and heavy weapons can tear apart structures, reshape terrain, and open new paths through the environment. Trenches can be expanded, fortifications can collapse, and cover can disappear in seconds, forcing players to quickly adapt their tactics as the front line evolves.

Players can take on a variety of battlefield roles, each designed to support the team in different ways. Frontline infantry engage enemies directly, engineers construct and repair defenses, while specialized units use powerful weapons to break through enemy positions. Choosing the right role and working together with your team is essential to securing victory.

Massive matches with up to 200 players create intense, cinematic battles filled with constant action. Tanks roll across the battlefield, aircraft soar overhead, and a wide selection of period-inspired weapons bring the scale and technology of World War I combat to life.

With multiple maps, dynamic weather conditions, and changing times of day, no two battles play out the same way. A built-in map editor also allows players to design their own battlefields and share them with the community, expanding the experience far beyond the base game.

Combining destructive environments, large player counts, and tactical team play, Over The Top: WWI offers an intense multiplayer experience that captures the scale and chaos of World War I combat.

The ideas are better than the execution in some areas. Weapon handling and hit registration still need work, and the rough edges can become frustrating after a few matches.
