Use exosuits to fight dinosaurs in Exoprimal

No, we didn't get a new Dino Crisis announcement from the PlayStation State of Play event, but we got perhaps the next best thing—a new IP from Capcom called Exoprimal. Check out the trailer now.

Mesozoic Mayhem

The year is 2043, and for some reason, portals through time keep opening and hordes of dinosaurs come pouring out. It's up to you and your team to stop them. According to Capcom social media associate manager Kellen Haney: "We're about to see a vicious fight for survival between the brave Exofighters of the near future, and ferocious creatures from the distant past who threaten to drive humanity toward extinction."

Exoprimal is a co-op/competitive multiplayer game where two teams of five players fight endless waves of dinosaurs, from velociraptors to the earth-shattering T-Rex. Only one team will survive—who will be the victor and who will be extinct?

The game features various types of exosuits for players to wear. Without them, humanity has no hope of fighting the overwhelming numbers of dinosaurs. Each suit has its own unique abilities, such as Roadblock's shield, which protects teammates from multiple attackers at once.

Biggest Battle in Prehistory

However, strategy is your strongest weapon in the game. With each suit having specific roles, you must match the right combination of exosuits with the right situation. What works against an army of raptors may not work against an enormous T-Rex that's barreling straight at you. Thankfully, Exoprimal lets you switch exosuits at any time, allowing for tactical thinking in the gameplay.

Though we didn't get Dino Crisis this time around, a familiar face is working behind the scenes. Dino Crisis producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi has tweeted that he is "deeply involved" in the development of the game, though it's not yet clear in what capacity.
