Super Mario turns 35 with new games
Since the info was already divulged last March, it's not a secret that Nintendo has decided to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario license with great fanfare. We already had a glimpse of what to expect, especially when the upcoming LEGO collections were revealed some time ago.
But the rumors that circulated last March have turned out to be true and we were able to discover yesterday Nintendo's plans for this anniversary year during a Nintendo Direct surprise.
The announcement that has arguably captured most of the attention is the release of the upcoming Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. Both, video games and toys, will be available from October 16 and they will allow you to create your own circuits at home using stands and a Mario or Luigi kart, thanks to augmented reality.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury has also been announced for February 12, 2021. This is an improved version of the Super Mario 3D World for Wii U that will add the possibility of playing online.
Super Mario Bros. 35 will be a Mario battle royale reserved for subscribers to the online service but only for a limited time, between October 1 and March 2021 more exactly. Still on the retro side, the Super Mario All-Stars compilation which was also released on Wii U and that brings together Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels is already available for Nintendo Switch in the SNES games catalog. A Game & Watch will also be released on November 13.
Finally, Super Mario 3D All-Stars has been unveiled too, and it's a compilation of three cult games: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. It's likely to sell very well and fast, because it will be released on September 18 but the physical version will only be available until March 2021.
There are already some rumors saying that the number of available copies of all those Super Mario products are going to be quite limited, so if you are willing to get any of them, you should hurry up before they ran out.
