Sea of Thieves Friends Play Free event starts today

If you are part of the Sea of Thieves Insider Programme or own a physical or digital copy of the game, you can get yourself a bunch of Friends Play Free codes. That means, pretty much, that you can invite your friends to play with you for free during the event. Each player gets up to three codes to share with friends. The codes can be redeemed at any time during the Friends Play Free event, which starts today and will last for a whole week until the 13th of February. You just have to visit the official site to grab your codes. There you can also find all the information about how to redeem them.

Apart from getting to enjoy the life of a pirate with your friends during this event, you can visit the Duke in the tavern and pick up a Mercenary Voyage to earn Mercenary ship cosmetics as a reward. Those Mercenary Voyages will also serve as an introduction to the game for your friends, ao they can easily learn the ropes of Sea of Thieves.

This event follows the announcement Rare did last month about this update, explaining that it would reduce the game's size for all platforms, forcing players to re-download the entire game today, February 6th. If you have not done it yet, don´t forget to do download Sea of Thieves again and reinstall if you want to go out on the seas with your friends!
