Prey gameplay gets teased at Gamescom
Publisher Bethesda Softworks has finally shown some more gameplay of their upcoming space FPS with role-playing elements developed by Arcane Studios. Prey is not a sequel of the 2006 game, but a reboot, "a reimagining of the IP". In this new version, we will play as Morgan Yu, the test subject of some experiments aiming to evolve human race obtaining special powers. The action takes place in the space station Talos I, where you wake up to find that it has been taken over by strange aliens. With the only aid of your powers and what you can find in the station, you will have to uncover the secrets of the place in an attempt to escape from the alien threat.
Prey – Gamescom 2016 Gameplay Teaser Video
At first glance, it would seem that Prey is your "to go" space adventure, but when you see that you are able to perform incredible feats with the aid of your powers, you start realizing the endless options and complexity of the gameplay. Not only you will be assaulted by many types of aliens that have special powers like teleportation, energy blasts or mimicking skills, but you can obtain those powers with the aid of Neuromods and use them yourself. You can also craft items with the parts and components you will find while exploring Talos I, things you will need to survive, like tools, weapons or ammo, adding another layer of possibilities to your gameplay options. Prey is scheduled for release next year and it will be available on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
