Open-world simulation game Life By You to enter Early Access
Life by You, Paradox Interactive’s ambitious answer to The Sims, is going into Early Access this September 12, 2023. According to the press release, Life by You is an open-world life sim with unprecedented modding capabilities. You will get to create humans and “live out their lives without loading screens.” See for yourself in the Life by You announcement trailer:

If the video seems a lot like The Sims, that’s likely due to the influence of Paradox Tectonic’s CEO Ron Humble, the former executive producer for The Sims. In 2011, he left The Sims to become CEO of the MMO Second Life. And now, he and Paradox Interactive are back with their newest life sim. As Humble stated in a press release:
“Life by You evolves the life simulation genre with modern style, real language conversation, and unprecedented freedom of expression. The game’s extensive customization tools allow for unparalleled levels of storytelling, and I can’t wait to see what creations players come up with once they dive into early access this summer.”
Life by You aims to let players connect with their characters on an emotional level. It boasts of real-life language conversations that are generated with each scenario. You are also allowed to create your own dialogue in the game, making Life by You truly a storytelling tool.
There’s a lot more in store as well: you have several creator tools for characters, homes, items, careers, quests, recipes, and gameplay. You can also take full control by dragging and dropping your characters or moving them in third person POV. Humble and Paradox Tectonic are aiming to deliver a highly moddable sim game that will let you design and live in your own world.
Life by You does not have a firm release date yet but will be available on Early Access this September for PC via Steam and Epic Games store. Consoles have not been announced as included but it may happen in the future.
