Naughty Dog is working on a second game alongside Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
During The Game Awards 2024 last December, Naughty Dog unveiled Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a brand-new IP that marks a significant departure from the studio’s previous works. The reveal trailer introduced a sci-fi action-adventure set in a universe where advanced space travel had already become possible by the 1980s. Described as Naughty Dog’s “wildest, most creative story yet,” the game has generated considerable anticipation.
Now, just months after the sci-fi title’s reveal, Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann has confirmed that the studio is also developing a second, unannounced project alongside Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
A Brand-New Project in the Works
The news came during an interview on the Press X to Continue podcast, where Druckmann discussed his evolving role within Sony and Naughty Dog. During the conversation, he revealed that he is also involved in another in-development title, although in a more supervisory capacity.
“There’s another game that’s being worked on at Naughty Dog where I am more in a producer role,” Druckmann said. “I get to mentor and watch this other team, and give feedback, and be like the executive in the room.”
This isn’t the first time Naughty Dog has handled multiple projects concurrently. One notable example was The Last of Us multiplayer game, which was ultimately canceled in December 2023. Given that, it’s unclear whether this mysterious second title will reach completion or suffer a similar fate.

Naughty Dog has not released a brand-new game since 2020’s The Last of Us Part II, focusing instead on remakes and remasters of their existing catalog. That makes the existence of two active projects particularly exciting for longtime fans.
Although no details have been shared about the unnamed game, speculation is already underway. Some fans believe it could be The Last of Us Part III, but Druckmann has previously downplayed the possibility of another sequel. Others are hoping for a return to the Uncharted franchise, though that remains unconfirmed. Regardless of what the second title turns out to be, Naughty Dog’s future is shaping up to be busier and more ambitious than ever.
