Microsoft increases gaming prices globally

Get ready to pay more to enjoy your favourite games, at least on Microsoft's platforms. The company has announced an unexpected price increase for Xbox consoles worldwide. The price increase varies depending on which console we are talking about but overall you will have to pay more for your favourite console whether it's an Xbox Series X or an Xbox Series S. Xbox Series X (2TB) > £589.99 / €699.99 / $729.99 with an increase of £40 / €50 / $130

The announcement is far from surprising given the current economic instability worldwide. However, the tariff war is probably not the only factor behind this price increase. Microsoft has directly pointed at market conditions as the cause for an increase that is also hitting video games and even controllers. "As of 1st May, we have adjusted recommended retailer pricing for our consoles and controllers worldwide. We also expect to adjust the pricing of some of our new, first-party games starting this holiday season to $79.99. Those titles purchased on the Xbox store have the benefit of Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing players to buy once and play on console and PC at no additional cost."
