Leaked AMD RX 9060 XT specs suggest a faster-than-expected 3.3 GHz GPU clock speed

Recent leaks regarding AMD's Radeon RX 9060 XT specifications surfaced through @momomo_us, indicating that this upcoming RDNA 4 graphics card will feature clock speeds that exceed expectations.

AMD is anticipated to reveal its new mid-tier RDNA 4 GPU during Computex 2025. According to the latest leaks, the new graphics card will have clock speeds surpassing all current RX 9070 series GPUs. Additionally, it is said to include sixteen PCIe 5.0 lanes, which is double the number typically found in GPUs within this market segment.

With the newly designed RDNA 4 compute units and increased clock speeds, AMD’s RX 9060 XT is expected to greatly surpass the performance of the previous-generation Radeon RX 7600 XT. However, questions remain regarding the pricing of AMD's new RDNA 4 GPU in relation to its RDNA 4 peers. Comparisons with Nvidia’s RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti also remain to be seen.

Utilizing a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface could help AMD sidestep the VRAM-related challenges present in Nvidia’s RTX 5060/5060 Ti 8GB GPUs, which tend to gain from additional PCIe bandwidth in scenarios where 8GB of VRAM falls short. Access to twice the PCIe lanes would alleviate potential bandwidth limitations, but ensuring that this GPU comes with adequate VRAM would eliminate this issue.

According to the latest leak, the RX 9060 series from AMD will provide support for only three display outputs: two DisplayPort connectors and one HDMI output. This information aligns with the leaked design of Acer’s Radeon RX 9060 XT, which confirms the presence of only three display outputs.
