AMD has reportedly advanced the launch of its RX 9060 XT and delayed the RX 9070 GRE
According to sources from Chinese board partners, shared by @realVictor_m, AMD has opted to move the launch date of its Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics card to May 18th. This timing places the unveiling of AMD’s latest GPU before Computex 2025, which is expected to be the event for the reveal of AMD’s next RDNA 4 graphics card.
The same leak indicates that the launch of AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 GRE has been “delayed” and is now scheduled for Q4 2025. In terms of the graphics card specifications, the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT will come in both 16 GB and 8 GB variants, resembling the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 4060 Ti series. These GPUs will feature a narrow 128-bit bus interface, and unlike NVIDIA's latest model, which uses GDDR7 memory and provides up to 448 GB/s bandwidth, the RDNA 4 GPUs will utilize a 20 Gbps GDDR6 solution that delivers 320 GB/s of total bandwidth.

Regarding the other model, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE, which is a 12 GB variant equipped with a pared-down Navi 48 GPU and a 192-bit bus, was slated for introduction on May 8th. However, this plan has changed, with the card now reportedly planned for Q4 2025, coinciding with the Chinese 11.11 sales event.
As previously mentioned, AMD is aiming for a price bracket of $269-$299 for the 8GB Radeon RX 9060 XT and $329-$379 for the 16GB version. Based on the anticipated pricing and performance, this positions AMD’s upcoming GPUs to directly contend with Nvidia’s RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti. AMD is likely to finalize its offerings soon after Nvidia’s RTX 5060 Ti launch, which will provide AMD insights into how formidable their competition is.
