Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity announced for Nintendo Switch

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was Nintendo Switch's 2017 launch game, and over three years later it remains to be considered as the best game released on the console to date. Its sequel was announced at E3 2019 but we haven't heard much from it, and it's probably not going to be released until 2021. Nintendo just made the wait for Breath of the Wild 2 a bit more bearable with the surprise announcement of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which will be released on November 20.

Announced yesterday, a first video reveals the game, which will take place 100 years before the events of Breath of The Wild. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity invites us to find out what happened during the disaster caused by the return of Ganon. We will find not only Link and Zelda but also the chosen of Hyrule, which we can also embody. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity takes the graphic style of Breath of the Wild, and adds the gameplay of the Hyrule Warriors games to deliver frantic action and combat between the player and numerous enemies.

We will, therefore, discover in more depth what we could glimpse through the memories of Link in the previous game, in particular, the kingdom of Hyrule before it was destroyed. We can also see that we will come across the Guardians, divine creatures that do not seem to be controlled by Ganon yet. We should also witness Link's rise as a chosen.

Although not everyone is a fan of Hyrule Warriors games, this game provides a more global vision of Ganon's return, and will undoubtedly serve to enrich the story of Breath of the Wild 2. Anyway. Nintendo has already announced that it will be revealing more information about Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity on September 26.
