Ghost Recon: Wildlands is getting a new multiplayer mode, Mercenaries

Ghost Recon: Wildlands is expanding its multiplayer options with a new competitive mode. Mercenaries will pit eight players against each other in a match where they will have to call for a rescue and reach the extraction point. But it's not player versus player exclusively, because there will be an AI-controlled Cartel present in the area whose members will also do her best to get rid of the players. The objective seems to be easy enough, but things start getting interesting when you discover that the location of the extraction point is unknown.

Players will start in different locations spread through the map, and their primary objective will be to find out different signal emitters that will allow them to pinpoint the possible location where the chopper that will rescue them will land. Once a player activates three of them, the location will be revealed to all players, and then the gameplay completely changes. Mercenaries is a free-for-all mode where only the first one to board the helicopter wins. Once the location is revealed, it's paramount that all the players head to the extraction point as fast as possible so there will be no time to equip yourself better or anything at all and surviving until the rescue helicopter arrives will become even harder.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands - Mercenaries

Players start only with a melee weapon, and they will have to get better equipment to fight their opponents. If a player dies, he will respawn at his starting point but losing any kind of equipment and weapons he managed to gather previous to his death. In Mercenaries, it's possible to loot items from the corpses of other players, you can equip certain gear to gain an armor bar that will have to be depleted before you start losing health, and penetrating attacks will make the target bleed, although you can fix that through the use of several healing consumables. Mercenaries mode will be available for Ghost Recon: Wildlands on all platforms starting today. As a bonus, you will unlock the Lone Wolf Costume once you complete your first match in the new multiplayer mode.
