Doom 64 is free on PC
The fourth installment of DOOM, one of the most popular FPS franchises of all time, was released in 1997. A while had passed since DOOM 3 rekindled the fire in the hearts of the fans, and id Software surprised everyone by allowing a different studio to develop a new installment of its beloved flagship franchise. Nightdive Studio released DOOM 64 in 1997 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game rapidly became a favorite of the fans. The fact that it does offer an experience more similar to classic Doom games than a new and modern take on the franchise wasn't a problem for the huge community that supports the series. In fact, DOOM 64 became so popular that it was overhauled with upgraded visuals and new levels on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the series, which took place a few years later.
You have the opportunity of getting DOOM 64 for free on PC as part of a promotion on Epic Games Store. You can visit the platform and claim your copy until next Thursday. It will be replaced by another game on that date. Doom 64 offers a renovated version of the classic for Nintendo 64 that is as exciting as the original and includes new features.
"Years have passed since you stopped Hell's invasion of Earth. Quarantined for humanity's safety, the UAC research facilities on Mars were abandoned and forgotten...until now. A signal from a degraded satellite suggests a single entity remains, and it has the power to resurrect the demons. As the only surviving marine who fought Hell's forces, you are sent on a lone crusade to hunt down the Mother of Demons and stop a renewed demonic invasion."
If you miss this opportunity, you can always use our comparator to get DOOM 64 cheap. You can also find games like DOOM Eternal, which lets you immerse into an entirely different type of experience inside the same universe.
