Grab Samorost 2 & Project Winter free on Epic Games Store

Claim Samorost 2 and Project Winter free of charge via Epic Games Store

It's that time again for a giveaway refresh on the Epic Games Store, meaning last week's trio of free games has been swapped out for the latest offerings. Currently, PC gamers can claim copies of Samorost 2 and Project Winter. However, it seems that the anticipated Road Redemption offer was removed at the last moment. As usual, you have a week to permanently add the newest indie titles to your Epic Games Store library.

Among the two, Project Winter stands out as an eight-player multiplayer game that emphasizes social deception. Set against a backdrop of a harsh, icy wilderness, the game incorporates survival mechanics where Survivors must gather resources, repair objectives, and cooperate to signal for rescue. Concurrently, Traitors within the group aim to undermine those efforts discreetly while avoiding being discovered.

The game features proximity and private voice chat, radios, and text chat for player communication, with Survivors trying to identify the Traitors while the latter attempts to remain inconspicuous.

On the other hand, Samorost 2 is another creation from Amanita Design, a studio that has had several games offered in giveaways on the Epic Games Store lately. Like its other titles, Samorost 2 is a charming point-and-click adventure celebrated for its surreal artistic style and dreamy narrative.

Players lead a small gnome through peculiar worlds on a quest to rescue his dog, which has been taken by alien poachers. With no spoken dialogue, the game relies on environmental puzzles and animations to convey the story.

The giveaways for Samorost 2 and Project Winter on the Epic Games Store are now live and will continue until September 25. PC gamers can seize the chance to add these titles to their library at no charge during this seven-day window before the next set of freebies is released. Speaking of future offerings, Eastern Exorcist and Jorel’s Brother and The Most Important Game of the Galaxy will be available for free starting September 25.
