Fear the Spotlight is free to grab right now on the Epic Games Store
The Epic Games Store has updated its free game promotion. The new weekly offering has swapped out Amnesia: The Bunker and Samorost 3, and now, PC gamers can claim Fear the Spotlight as a unique solo giveaway. As usual, you have a week to permanently add the games to your Epic Games Store library.
Developed by Cozy Game Pals, Fear the Spotlight is a survival horror game released in 2024. Its gameplay and visual style draw inspiration from classic 90s titles, emphasizing storytelling, puzzle-solving, and atmospheric tension over jump scares to engage players.
This is just a brief overview of the horror game, which does incorporate puzzle-solving for those who aren't keen on puzzle games. Interested players should be aware that while the game includes puzzles, it has a playtime of about three to four hours. This may not seem long, but according to player reviews, it is a very well-spent three to four hours. Additionally, horror games typically aren't lengthy.
The story follows two teenagers, Vivian and Amy, who become trapped in a school after a failed séance. As Vivian, players will navigate through corridors, classrooms, libraries, and secret passageways while evading the enigmatic creature that is pursuing her, armed with only a few resources for survival and puzzle-solving.
The Fear the Spotlight giveaway on the Epic Games Store is currently active and will run until October 30, making it the final free offering of the month. PC gamers can add this title to their library at no cost during the week-long period before the next freebies, which will be available on the same day at 8am PT. The giveaway coincides with the start of the store's Halloween Sales, which will continue until November 3.
As always, be sure to visit our free games page and keep an eye out for upcoming titles and special offers.
