Atlus shows Shin Megami Tensei V gameplay

The Shin Megami Tensei series has been entertaining the fans of the Japanese role-playing games for a long while. Despite not being as popular as Final Fantasy, it still has a lot of followers, especially in Japan, and it has managed to gather a good group of fans over the years in the West too. Originally based on the novel series from Aya Nishitani, each of the games in the series features a separate storyline with different protagonists, but all of them have certain elements in common, and they focus on individuals that gain extraordinary powers by seeking the aid of otherworldly beings. The latest installment in the series, Shin Megami Tensei V will follow the same pattern as its predecessors, and it will put you in the shoes of a high-school student that suddenly finds himself in an alternate version of Tokyo that has been invaded by demons. He fuses with a powerful being in order to gain exceptional abilities that will allow him to fight against these powerful enemies and try to save the world.

Shin Megami Tensei V was revealed at the E3 2021, and now developer Atlus has published a new video that lets you delve a bit deeper into the universe of the game. The game features detailed and beautiful graphics with impressive animations, as well as demon fusion and evolution mechanics that will be quite familiar to the fans f the series. Its turn-based combat will reminisce of Final Fantasy to all those that are new to the franchise, and offers a good combination of strategy and action.

The release of Shin Megami Tensei V is scheduled for November 12, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. If you are looking for a good modern JRPG or a thrilling adventure on Nintendo's console, you should keep an eye on it.
