Team 17 announces a new Worms game for 2020
Since the creation of the studio, Team 17 has developed a plethora of video games of various genres. But one of the most popular ones, if not THE most popular of their licenses is undoubtedly Worms. The first installment in the series was released in 1994 and it was the starting point for a huge success, to be followed by many others. Worms has literally marked an entire generation and few players born in the 80s and 90s have never played it. The most popular game in the series is Worms Armageddon, which was released in 1999.
And it seems that more than twenty years later we have not seen it all of the Worms series. Team 17 has just published a new teaser announcing the return of the series in 2020.
Grab your Bazooka and jump on your Sheep, the Worms are back in 2020 like you’ve never seen them before.

Published both on the Twitter accounts of Team 17 and Worms, the video is accompanied by a message that leaves us waiting for more as much as the trailer itself:
INCOMING! Get ready for Worms like you’ve never played before! Things are getting real in 2020 – more details coming soon…
What is certain is that Worms will return to the stage in 2020. The uncertainty lies in the form which this new game will take. With twenty games on the counter, the series has known some changes over time, including some 3D installments that struggled to convince players. No Worms game has been released in 3D since Worms Ultimate Mayhem was launched in 2011. However, this is the direction suggested by the video, in which we can see images of different games, all in 2D. The latest of them, Worms W.M.D. is broadcasted on a television which is literally smashed down by a worm. Some players have reacted very positively to the possibility of a new Worms in 3D. You could think that it's like broccoli, you either love it or hate it.
In any case, the mystery about this new game should be unveiled very soon, and we can't wait to see what Team 17 has in store for us with this new Worms.
