StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty celebrates its 10th anniversary with some changes

Everything Blizzard touches is turned into gold. The company managed to become one of the most important video game developers in the world even before joining Activision and it was thanks to just a few franchises that have installed themselves as cult games at the top of their respective genres. When we talk about real-time Strategy, we are talking about StarCraft, of course. The original StarCraft was a big hit that got even more popular when its first expansion, Brood War, was released, and its success was the foundation of StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty, a modern sequel that had legions of avid fans waiting for it in 2010. Blizzard didn't disappoint StarCraft players at all, and they released an impressive game that featured new mechanics, impressive graphics, and a thrilling competitive multiplayer, of course. Those features only got enhanced with the release of the Legacy of the Void and Heart of the Swarm expansions, which added plenty of new units and more.

Now, StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty is 10 years old and Blizzard celebrates its 10th anniversary with a huge update that adds some changes to the game. Patch 5.0 is already available and it comes with big changes to the editor, which has been updated with some new features and will see more coming in the future. Also, a new "Commander Prestige" system has been added to co-op missions in StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty and players will be able to unlock brand new prestige talents by leveling up their commanders playing through the level 1-15 progression up to three additional times. Each of those talents will significatively change and improve their core gameplay and open a new world of strategic possibilities. Finally, the update also includes a good number of minor bug fixes. You can check a detailed list with all the patch notes here.
